Dear Patriot,
It is that time of the week to celebrate the bits of good news that may have fluttered under your nose without notice.
1- On one of the happiest days in America, a quintessential photo was snapped that summed up the joy of V-J Day. Of course, the insane left wants it erased.
NOT SO FAST!
Veterans Affairs reverses decision to ban iconic WWII Victory Day photo after outcry
QUOTE: The Veterans Affairs secretary reversed his agency's decision to ban displays of the iconic "V-J Day in Times Square" photograph of a Navy sailor kissing a nurse he did not know in New York City as the U.S. celebrated victory over Japan in World War II.
Secretary Denis McDonough on Tuesday posted a photo of the iconic image on X, formerly Twitter, and said: "Let me be clear: This image is not banned from VA facilities - and we will keep it in VA facilities."
The decision came hours after a memo from a VA Assistant Under Secretary, RimaAnn Nelson, went viral online. The memo, dated Feb. 29, 2024, is titled: "Removal and Replacement of 'V-J Day in Times Square' Photographs."
The memo requests all VA facilities to remove the image taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt on Aug. 14, 1945, the day Japan surrendered to the Allies in World War II. "The photograph, which depicts a non-consensual act, is inconsistent with the VA's no-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and assault," the agency stated.
The goal of removing the picture was to "foster a more trauma-informed environment that promotes the psychological safety of our employees and the Veterans we serve," the memo also said.
2- Many hard working people are winning the battle to give parents the choice on how their own children are educated. Texas is a shining example of how important this issue is for voters.
School choice candidates win big in Texas Republican primary
QUOTE: Candidates who support school choice won big in Republican primaries Tuesday night in Texas. The majority of Republican primary voters also passed a nonbinding proposition supporting school choice.
School choice was a major issue on the ballot after 21 Republican members of the House voted last year to kill a school choice measure and House Republicans refused to vote on an education bill the Senate repeatedly passed with bipartisan support to create the state’s first Education Savings Account program.
Throughout the primary season, Gov. Greg Abbott endorsed and campaigned for candidates who he says support school choice, including those who challenged incumbent Republicans that Abbott previously endorsed. Nearly all of his endorsed candidates won or forced incumbents to a runoff.
Six incumbent Republicans lawmakers who opposed school choice lost outright. Four more were forced into a runoff election by pro-school choice candidates. Four pro-school choice candidates won their races in open seats.
3- This is a great conversation for any high schooler and their parents to listen to. As young adults embark on their lives, it is good to consider directions other than college.
The Dirty Truth about Dirty Jobs vs College Degrees with Mike Rowe
QUOTE: Americans are bombarded incessantly with propaganda telling them to go college, even if the cost is ruinous and it's unlikely to teach them any useful skills. Mike Rowe is on a one-man crusade to change that. Mike joins Charlie to talk about the dignity and enormous opportunity that skilled blue-collar labor still offers to Americans of all backgrounds.
4- A win against discrimination being perpetuated by the federal government.
Judge Nukes Biden’s Discriminatory DEI Business Program
QUOTE: In a huge victory against the racist diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda, a federal judge has ruled the Biden administration’s Minority Business Development Agency has long violated the Constitution’s equal protection guarantees by punishing “disfavored” groups — in this case white small business owners.
In his ruling, U.S. District Court Judge Mark Pittman for the Northern District of Texas likened the agency’s use of race-based criteria in awarding taxpayer-funded assistance to the discriminatory actions of 19th-century American businesses that hung “Irish Need Not Apply” signs or “Blacks Need Not Apply” placards during the Jim Crow era.
“The MBDA advertises services exclusively for some races but not others,” the judge wrote in his decision. “While the Agency’s work may help alleviate opportunity gaps faced by MBEs [minority business enterprises], two wrongs do not make a right. And the MBDA’s racial presumption is a wrong.”
Pittman granted summary judgment for two of the three plaintiffs and issued a permanent injunction barring the federal government from using the agency to award benefits based on race.
The lawsuit was filed last year by the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty on behalf of three entrepreneurs from Florida, Texas, and Wisconsin who sought assistance from the Minority Business Development Agency.
“Plaintiffs hail from different states and have different circumstances, backgrounds, and businesses. But they have much in common: they all worked hard to get where they are, they all overcame obstacles in pursuit of the American Dream, they all care deeply for their businesses, and they all wanted — but couldn’t obtain — assistance from the same federal program,” court documents state.
They’re also white, and didn’t fit the race-based preferences of the federal agency.
5- Another win over lawfare…. in Italy!
We will take the win!
Bannon’s Roman Populist-Nationalist ‘Gladiator School’ Wins Major Court Victory.
QUOTE: Italian courts have ruled in favor of Benjamin Harnwell and Steve Bannon’s proposed “Academy for the Judeo-Christian West” at the Trisulti charterhouse in central Italy. Italy’s top state prosecutor had sued Harnwell for “fraudulently” obtaining the lease for the monastery and failing to pay €200,000 in rent. However, after years of grueling lawsuits through civil and criminal courts, Harnwell was fully exonerated, with the magistrate ruling that he had obtained the lease correctly and paid all funds due. This is a blow against politically-driven prosecutions of Trump-allied figures, said Harnwell, who was jubilant as he left the courtroom.
The proposed academy aimed to provide the world’s future populist politicians and influencers with the rhetorical skills to challenge liberal worldviews. Funded by Bannon and a coterie of unnamed associates in right-wing circles, Harnwell was the sole applicant to lease the monastery when the governmentsought new buyers in 2016. The curriculum was designed to include courses on “Cultural Marxism,” “The Church as an Early Business Enterprise,” and Islam, blending libertarianism and conservative Catholicism. This scheme promised to train right-wing politicians and influencers in the art of persuasive argumentation and help them combat the liberal agenda.
The ruling Thursday potentially lays the groundwork for Harnwell to reclaim the monastery after being pre-emptively evicted in 2021. The verdict was originally due in December but was postponed to March, leaving Harnwell questioning how he was removed from the monastery without ever being convicted of any crime.
6- Listen to the part about Hunter Biden but stay for Dr. Ablow’s sage advice on how to stay sane in world that is crazy. It all evolves around TRUTH!
The Tucker Carlson Encounter: Hunter Biden, the Laptop, and the Psychiatrist
QUOTE: Dr. Keith Ablow is a psychiatrist who spent years on Fox News. He also treated Hunter Biden for cocaine addiction. In February of 2020, armed federal agents raided Ablow’s office, took his patient records as well as Hunter Biden’s laptop, and never charged him with a crime. What was this about? Dr. Ablow talks about it for the first time.
