Another interesting week in America has passed.
Jury decisions, court battles, shocking polling, town halls on dying CNN, press conferences, massive invasion by illegals, debt ceilings…we had to work hard to find the silver linings.
But we did find a few gems!
1- The House Oversight Committee press conference on Wednesday delivered the goods. They presented the proof that the Biden Crime Family received cash for influence. Most of us already knew this was the case but, it was good to see that there was documented proof.
Not surprisingly, the bombshell presser has been almost completely ignored by the Democrat PR media, a.k.a. the corporate press.
That is why it is important for us to know the details and share this information with others.
We all hope this investigation leads to accountability for the Biden Regime.
QUOTE: If the bombshells unleashed at Wednesday morning’s House Oversight Committee press conference had been about the corruption of a Republican president via millions of dollars in foreign bribes to his family, the clamor for impeachment would have been deafening.
But Joe Biden has the protection of the Deep State and unscrupulous Democratic lawyers, so accountability will be slower, though no less certain, if Oversight Chairman James Comer continues his dogged pursuit of the money.
Comer (R-Ky.) has delivered an astonishing forensic interim accounting of $10 million in payments from just two of the countries, Romania and China, which enriched the president’s family during his vice presidency and in the weeks afterward. That’s not counting further millions from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Romania, Oman, or earlier China deals and “other foreign business deals the Committee is investigating.”
The only business the Bidens were engaged in for all that filthy lucre was selling Joe’s influence to the highest foreign bidder when he was VP, with no regard for national security, and with his knowledge and active involvement, including meeting at least a dozen of son Hunter Biden’s foreign benefactors.
Now that Comer has laid out a documented trail of million-dollar bribes paid to the Biden family, it is unsustainable for the president and the White House to continue to stonewall and deny the truth. Comer has bank transactions from four banks showing at least nine members of the president’s immediate family received hefty foreign payments, including his younger brother Jim Biden, his son Hunter, his widowed daughter-in-law Hallie Biden (Hunter’s former lover), Hunter’s ex-wife, Kathleen Biden, and current wife, Melissa Cohen, and “three children of the president’s son and the president’s brother.” He has identified 15 shell companies associated with Hunter and a complicated web of transactions designed to hide the payments.
The investigation is still in its infancy, but Comer’s latest memo is a blunt rebuke of Joe Biden’s continued lies about the family influence-peddling scheme, which revolves around him in more ways than one.
2- While Fox News nosedives, Tucker announced he will be talking to his fans on Twitter. Cable TV has had a good run but it is no longer a viable conduit of news. Fox News is a dead man walking.
QUOTE: It’s fair to say that things have not been going well for Fox News since they “parted ways” with Tucker Carlson.
In the time since they parted ways, ratings in primetime among key demographics of cable television viewers have cratered badly declined with Carlson’s former show spot ratings dropping by around 50 percent. The network’s audience among 25- to 54-year-olds had shrunk by two-thirds.
What is that looking like? It’s looking bad.
“Fox News is bleeding viewers so badly right now that both MSNBC (Chris Hayes) and CNN (Anderson Cooper) had more in-demo viewers during the 8 pm time slot on Friday,” Sean Davis of The Federalist observed.
How bad? Very bad. The CNN morning show reportedly beat out the Tucker slot in the 25-54 demographic on Friday.
Now, it should be noted that Fox is still ahead in total audience. But it’s hard not to see what a catastrophic hit they have taken by cutting Tucker and how it’s affecting multiple shows. Just like with Bud Light, they’ve made a decision that it’s hard to come back from for a lot of their viewers. And if they don’t resolve the issues with Carlson, that anger from the viewers is likely to continue to fester.
3- We normally would not discuss the recent Coronation in England but, we loved this take. Sometimes you have to sneak the good stuff in.
QUOTE:For all the talk of “modernization”, the Coronation of King Charles III in Westminster Abbey on Saturday was a fundamentally Christian service replete with prayers, hymns, and scripture. The service underscored the fact that Christianity is still the bedrock of Western culture, even in increasingly faithless times.
American conservatives, given the centrality of their country’s historic grievances against George III to their identity, are seldom royalists. Yet most can appreciate, albeit from afar, the British monarch’s status as a living link with over a thousand years of history, and the many rich traditions associated with monarchy — and in particular the way it underlines Christianity’s vital role in preserving Western culture.
Westminster Abbey itself notes the order of service for the Coronation is itself “a reminder that coronations take place within a Communion service or Eucharist.”
“The monarch is crowned in the name of God, surrounded by prayer, and the first thing that the newly-crowned monarch does is receive Holy Communion as a sign of his dependency on God,” the abbey stresses.
While those unfamiliar with the coronation service may labor under the misapprehension that it is an unseemly exercise in elevating a mortal man above his fellows in idolatrous fashion, nothing could be further from the truth. Many rituals stress that the King must be a servant of God and of his people.
The “most sacred” part of the coronation was Charles’s anointing with holy oil; a semi-private ceremony that took place behind a special screen with the King divested of his robes and kneeling in a simple white shirt.
“Thy prophets of old anointed priests and kings to serve in Thy name and in the fullness of time Thine only Son was anointed by the Holy Spirit to be the Christ, the Saviour and Servant of all,” the Archbishop said to God as he prepared to perform the anointing.
Charles was implored by the Archbishop to reign according to what many would regard as a profoundly conservative manifesto as the sword was presented:
“With this sword do justice, stop the growth of iniquity, protect the holy Church of God and all people of goodwill, help and defend widows and orphans, restore the things that are gone to decay, maintain the things that are restored, punish and reform what is amiss, and confirm what is in good order: that doing these things you may be glorious in all virtue; and so faithfully serve our Lord Jesus Christ in this life, that you may reign for ever with Him in the life which is to come. Amen.”
With even the leftward-drifting Conservative Party increasingly disinterested in ruling according to such principles, which clash at a fundamental level with the woke, secularizing zeitgeist, the Coronation was a very rare instance of such genuinely conservative ideals being articulated at the very heart of public life.
4- A good start in Oklahoma in the fight against government sponsored far left propaganda.
QUOTE: Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt said he is pulling the plug on the state’s sole PBS television station because of “indoctrination and over-sexualization” of children through content that promotes drag queens and the LGBTQ agenda.
The Republican leader said taxpayers should not have to fund OETA-TV, given its far-Left bias. He recently moved to block funding for the station through 2026. Unless the state legislature overrides his veto, the network will cease operations this year.
“OETA, to us, is an outdated system,” Stitt said. “You know, the big, big question is why are we spending taxpayer dollars to prop up or compete with the private sector and run television stations?”
“And then when you go through all of the programming that’s happening and the indoctrination and over-sexualization of our children, it’s just really problematic, and it doesn’t line up with Oklahoma values,” he added.
5- Now, if we can just get attendance at the theme parks to drop!
QUOTE: Disney+ subscriptions experienced a steep drop off during the first three months of 2023, with the woke streaming service losing a whopping 4 million customers globally. Overall, Disney’s streaming business continues to bleed money with no sign of profitability in sight.
While most of the Disney+ losses resulted from the end of the Hotstar deal in India, the streamer posted an unexpected loss of 300,000 subscribers in the U.S. and Canada as more consumers wake up to Disney’s relentless push of transgender and drag queen content in its entertainment for children.
For the quarter, the studio reported a total of Disney+ subscriptions of 157.8 million worldwide, falling well short of Wall Street’s estimate of 163.2 million. Disney’s streaming business lost $659 million for the quarter, an improvement over the $1 billion the division lost in the last three months of 2022.
As Breitbart News reported, Disney’s streaming business — which also includes Hulu — lost more than $1 billion in each of the two past quarters. Like other legacy Hollywood studios, Disney is betting the farm on streaming and has been spending a fortune to compete with Netflix and emerge dominant.
But once-faithful Disney customers are now turning away from the company as it continues to embrace woke identity politics — particularly, transgenderism, drag queens, and other types of gender non-conformity.
6- Good News Friday would not be complete without an update on the spreading protest of Bud Light.
QUOTE: Bud Light’s downward spiral has accelerated in the wake of the Dylan Mulvaney debacle — and the carnage has begun to spill into Anheuser-Busch’s other mega-buck brands, The Post has learned.
Nationwide retail sales of Bud Light were down 23.4% versus a year ago in the week of April 29 — worse than the 21.4% decline it suffered a week earlier, according to Bump Williams Consulting and NielsenIQ data.
Meanwhile, as beer drinkers discover how many other beer brands fall under the Anheuser-Busch umbrella, the backlash is widening, according to the fresh data.
The company’s flagship Budweiser brand took an 11.4% sales hit for the week ended April 29.
Sales of Bud’s Michelob Ultra brand — the third-biggest-selling in the US behind No. 1 Bud Light and No. 2 Modelo Especial — were down 4.4%, according to Bump Williams data.
“It’s not just a Bud Light issue,” said Bump Williams, chief executive of the consultancy.
“It’s an Anheuser-Busch portfolio problem now.”
