Good News Friday: 11/17/23 .....
November 17, 2023
Dear Patriots,
Another week in the world has passed.
We find the nuggets of good in the sea of crazy.
Share the good news.
1- A peaceful rally in Washington DC. What a blessing to see this massive public support for Israel.
Tens of Thousands Rally for Israel in DC, Crying 'Never Again'
QUOTE: Supporters of Israel rallied by the tens of thousands on the National Mall under heavy security Tuesday, voicing solidarity in the fight against Hamas and crying "never again."
The "March for Israel" offered a resounding and bipartisan endorsement of one of America's closest allies as criticism has intensified over Israel's offensive in Gaza, set off by the bloody Hamas incursion on Oct. 7.
Overlooking a sea of Israeli and U.S. flags, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Speaker Mike Johnson and the House Democratic leader, Hakeem Jefferies, came together on the stage and, with Republican Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa, joined hands. "We stand with Israel," Schumer chanted.
Yet underneath that projection of unity, Democrats are sharply divided over Israel's course and its treatment of Palestinians. President Joe Biden now is urging Israel to restrain some of its tactics to ease civilian suffering in Gaza after voicing full-throated solidarity with the Israelis in the war's early weeks.
2- Seemingly overnight, Democrats solve the massive problems of homelessness and drug use in San Francisco!
We were so amazed by this that we almost overlooked that it only took a visit from a genocidal dictator who unleashed a virus on the world to prove these intractable problems are solvable.
Democrats Will Clean San Francisco for Dictators but Not Voters
QUOTE: It took a Chinese dictator to get the city of San Francisco, California, cleaned up after five years of deterioration.
The Democrats who run San Francisco and California finally, Finally, FINALLY cleaned up that city's filthy streets and removed the dystopian homeless encampments. At long last, San Francisco has been beautified in a dozen ways.
Yes, after some five years of increasingly dangerous streets littered with dirty needles, feces, trash, and filthy tents, not to mention aggressive vagrants, drug dealers, the deranged and addicted, the city took action.
Why?
Because China's dictator, President Xi Jinping, is coming to town for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
And if anyone still harbors doubts about just how much contempt Democrats hold for American citizens, watch Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) admit that the arrival of Xi is why they finally cleaned the city.
"I know folks say, 'Oh, they're just cleaning up this place because all these fancy leaders are coming into town,'" said Newsom. "That's true because it's true."
For years and years and years, San Francisco, which truly was a beautiful city, declined under the weight of filthy and dangerous streets while — this whole time! — the Democrats who run the city and state had the funds and know-how to clean it up.
But they chose not to.
3- There is still a place where people can go to college and not be indoctrinated. But, keep this quiet!
Community colleges and trade schools are largely void of Israel-Hamas protests
QUOTE: Eight years ago Mike Rowe said he was switching the channels on his television back and forth watching the news and saw a number of college students setting fire to the American flag and dancing around a pile of burning flags telling reporters in interviews they were disgusted with Old Glory and "fearful" of the American Flag.
It is not lost on Rowe that the two places of higher education where you don't see campuses erupting in violence and destroying the safety of Jewish students are trade schools and community colleges.
Rowe said once again for the second time in a decade he remains so proud to run the mikeroweWORKS foundation, "Of all the pushback I get, I never get any in this space. These schools simply don't go there," he said of the trade schools and community colleges across the country whose certificate programs and two year degrees are designed around filling the skills gap in this country.
Rowe's foundation has given away millions in worth ethic scholarships to trade school students and helped thousands find jobs in the trade industry.
4- A constitutional ruling from an "unfavorable" judge. Regardless of who you support, this attempt to remove a candidate from the ballot is wrong on all levels.
Michigan Court Rejects Effort to Disqualify Donald Trump
QUOTE: We have been discussing the nationwide effort to disqualify former President Donald Trump from ballots in key states under a novel theory using Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Yesterday, a Michigan judge was the latest to dismiss the effort to prevent voters from being able to vote for Trump.
As many of you know, I have been a vocal critic of the theory as unfounded and dangerous. While figures like Harvard Professor Laurence Tribe have assured the public that Trump is clearly disqualified under the theory, it is based on unsustainable historical and legal interpretations in my view. For that reason, I have welcomed rulings to allow these claims to be reviewed on appeal. It has not fared well. While some have misrepresented past rulings, Tribe and others are still seeking a favorable judge.
State Judge James Robert Redford rejected the challenge and found that the courts lack the claimed authority under the theory. Judge Redford also rejected the effort of Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson (D) under state law to remove candidates from the ballot based on that provision.
An appeal is now expected to proceed and the matter could well end up in front of the Supreme Court.
5- Long time Democrat political consultant, Doug Schoen, points to the many weaknesses of his party. It is good to know this as we only hear how the Right is dysfunctional. It is, but the Democrats aren't better, they just have better press.
Democrats' off-year election wins mask underlying vulnerabilities
QUOTE: Despite Democrats' notable off-year election wins, last week was a very bad week for Joe Biden. There have been a number of polls, both the New York Times/Siena poll and Emerson polling, showing Biden trailing former President Trump in five of six swing states.
Beyond that, Biden's approval rating is sitting at a record low 37 percent, per Gallup polling, indicating that Biden is now at levels on par with Jimmy Carterwhen he suffered an overwhelming defeat in 1980.
Moreover, with the war in Israel dividing the Democratic party and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying an Israeli occupation of Gaza will continue indefinitely, we are almost certainly guaranteed that Democratic divisions will continue to fester.
Indeed, the longer wars in both Israel and Ukraine rage, the more challenging it will be to maintain support for funding both nations, despite the currently robust levels of support for Israel among mainstream politicians on both sides of the aisle.
To that point, while right now the American public overall remains supportive of our commitment to both nations, having seen what happened in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan, it's not hard to draw the conclusion that a year from now support for both conflicts could potentially fall precipitously, as we have seen already — particularly on the political right — with Ukraine.
On Friday, the news got worse for President Biden when Jill Stein announced that she would be running for president as the Green Party candidate. Stein got approximately 1 percent of the vote in 2016, but in key swing states, she may well have made the difference in electing Donald Trump.
6- Another bright spot in recent elections.
Committee To Unleash Prosperity
Wichita Elects a Libertarian Mayor – Wow!!
QUOTE: The off-year elections were a downer, but we keep finding bright spots.
And this result is worth celebrating:
"I believe in empowering the individual and limited government. I chose to become a Libertarian on my registration because it spoke to who I was."Ms. Wu won with nearly 60% of the vote against an entrenched incumbent. She is a 39-year-old Asian immigrant from Guatemala, the first person in her family to graduate from college, and a registered member of the Libertarian Party.
Now she's the mayor of one of the 50 largest cities in America.
Her issues are better schools, "public safety," and being "more responsible with the money that is being sent to us by taxpayers."Keep an eye on this woman. She has a very bright political future.
7- It is always good to see anyone on the Left held accountable...even when they disappear.
Soros-Backed Prosecutor Faces Potential Criminal, Civil Charges
QUOTE: What has been a "radical, left-wing social experiment," according to Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, is over in St. Louis, and he said it's time for attorney Kim Gardner to face the consequences of her actions.
On Nov. 14, Mr. Bailey filed a 53-page report on Ms. Gardner's time as St. Louis's circuit attorney. Ms. Gardner resigned in May under heavy public scrutiny.
Ms. Gardner was the first black woman elected to the office in charge of prosecuting offenses inside the city limits of St. Louis and began her term in 2017. She was reelected in 2020."She bragged about coming to office with a new approach to criminal justice focused on racial equity," Mr. Bailey said in an interview with The Epoch Times. "She bragged about seeking to actively shrink the criminal justice system, and she did that by unlawfully refusing to do her job and let the criminals take over the streets."
Nationally, Mr. Bailey said the Gardner report serves as a blueprint for how other states can address "rogue, Soros-backed prosecutors who, rather than protecting their victims, are creating more victims. In a lot of major cities in the U.S., you have Soros-backed prosecutors who were like-minded with Kim Gardner," Mr. Bailey said. "Any time you see that kind of dark money flowing into those races to buy those political offices, that creates enormous problems for the population."
In May, Ms. Gardner announced she would resign her office on June 1. However, on May 16, she suddenly left her office, Mr. Bailey said, two hours before she was due to give a deposition in the quo warranto case. Her unexpected departure stymied the quo warranto proceeding since she no longer held the power she would need to defend.
Christine Bertelson, a public information officer for the circuit attorney's office, said the office didn't know Ms. Gardner's whereabouts.Mr. Bailey said he is considering other ways to hold her accountable. The state can bring either civil or criminal charges against Ms. Gardner regarding several of her actions.
