Dear Patriot,
We have all experienced the phenomenon of not being able to look away from a car accident. We are having the opposite reaction to all the reporting on the fires in LA.
We want to look away. It is so horribly tragic, devastating and unnecessary that we can not bear to witness it.
Pray for everyone who has lost all the comforts of their homes and communities.
Our country is barreling into a time of great change and excitement. The future looks bright but, it is going to take Herculean efforts by many people to solve problems and calm the world.
Courage is like a muscle. It gets stronger the more it is used. President Trump has shown biblical courage. He and his team are strong but need our unwavering support and constant prayer. The next months will be grueling. We will be here and we are so glad that you all are in this new battle with us.
1- We love this. We love a good idea. We love the people who think up different solutions and can work to enact their visions.
This is the process needed to actually SOLVE problems. The left wants to complain about problems, scare people about problems and fundraise off problems. It is not in their interest to scratch a fixed problem off the list.
A lot of people are capable of making our lives better and safer. Thank God many of them are now in positions to do so.
Bill Ackman is a great follow on X.
2- The main reason that the fires in LA can not be extinguished is that no water is available. To get some background on this vexing reality, read this entire piece at the link.
Stunner: Why Was Pacific Palisades Reservoir EMPTY? It Gets Worse.
QUOTE: An empty reservoir and dry fire hydrants are now the symbols of California and local officials' response to the horrific Pacific Palisades wildfire—one of six Santa Ana windblown firestorms still burning in Los Angeles. Gov. Gavin Newsom has ordered an investigation to demonstrate that he's doing something, but the damage is being done right now.
The 117 million-gallon Santa Ynez Reservoir was empty and down for maintenance when the devastating fire was sparked, perhaps in the brush, between the homes and the Pacific Coast Highway. You can see a map of the area in my story Good Intentions Might Be the Cause of Devastating Palisades Fire.
Friday, officials confirmed that the reservoir had been down for nearly a year —closing in February 2024—for maintenance to the cover of the reservoir.
The New York Times reports that a contractor was hired in November to fix a crack in the cover. It is unclear why the reservoir had to be shut down for that extended period of time.
The ripple effect was beyond devastating.
The fires broke out Tuesday, Jan. 7. By the next day, Janisse Quiñones, the head of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, said their system tanks went dry three times.
In 2014, voters also taxed themselves billions to build more reservoirs. Environmentalists don't want those either.
And the reservoir that counted this week was dry.
3- We are praying that this bad attorney is charged and tried for his unconstitutional and illegal harassment of President Trump. Read all about his final acts to hurt Trump as he walks out the door. Meanwhile, we are relieved that he is, at last, out of a job.

Jack Smith's Final Stunt
QUOTE: In a footnote contained in a motion last week, the Department of Justice disclosed that Special Counsel Jack Smith officially resigned on January 10. Smith had announced his plans to leave the DOJ a few days after Donald Trump won the presidential election.
But it appears Smith, the losingest prosecutor in DOJ history, pulled one more stunt on his way out the door: sending an unnecessary and one-sided “report” on his two failed prosecutions of the incoming president to Attorney General Merrick Garland.
The president’s lawyers had learned of the report through media coverage. When they confronted Smith’s office, prosecutors originally agreed to let the attorneys view the draft in Washington over the December holidays, a proposal rejected by the president’s team. The attorneys then viewed the document during the first week of January and immediately sent a letter to Garland detailing their objections to the report’s release. (I explained here.)
The report consists of two volumes. Volume One, according to the DOJ, covers the January 6-related indictment of President Trump in Washington and Volume Two addresses the so-called classified documents case in Florida. After Trump’s victory, Smith moved to drop both cases.
But Smith did not drop the case against Trump’s two co-defendants in the documents case, Waltine Nauta, a longtime personal aide, and Carlos De Olivera. The men were charged in 2023 on the same indictment as Trump; one count accuses the three of “conspiring” to obstruct the investigation.
Lawyers representing Nauta and De Oliveira filed motions last week seeking to block release of the report, arguing any public disclosures would taint ongoing litigation against their clients. Judge Aileen Cannon, who presided over the document case and dismissed the indictment last year after concluding Smith’s appointment violated the Constitution, issued an order temporarily prohibiting the DOJ from sharing the report outside of the department.
That prompted a flurry of court action in both her courtroom and the 11th Circuit appellate court as the DOJ sought emergency relief from Cannon’s order and defense attorneys sought an extension to her order, which is set to expire Monday night.
In what appeared to be a compromise move, the DOJ stated that Volume Two, the section devoted to the documents case, would only be made available to the chairmen and ranking members (Democrats) of the House and Senate Judiciary Committee as long as the litigation remained active. (As if Jamie Raskin won’t immediately leak information to his buddies at CNN.)
4- While this may seem like a new idea, it has been discussed for years and several presidents have sought to make it happen. Our excellent Chief Negotiator may actually pull it off.
Greenland leaders ready to talk with Trump after prez-elect expressed interest to make territory part of America
QUOTE: Greenland’s leader Múte Egede said he is prepared to enter into negotiations with President-elect Trump about the future of the mineral-rich arctic territory — but warned his people had no interest in becoming Americans.
At a press conference Friday in Denmark, which exercises nominal sovereignty over Greenland, Egede said he accepted that Greenland was “a place that the Americans see as part of their world” and that while he has not spoken with Trump, he was open to “discussions about what unites us.”
“We are ready to talk,” he said. “Cooperation is about dialogue. Cooperation means that you will work towards solutions.”
“We have a desire for independence, a desire to be the master of our own house … This is something everyone should respect,” he said. “Greenland is for the Greenlandic people. We do not want to be Danish, we do not want to be American. We want to be Greenlandic.”
Greenland’s strategic importance has increased exponentially in recent years with ice-bound arctic waterways melting and world powers scrambling for new real estate between the United States and Russia.
5- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley and Ilhan Omar.
They have ruined the Democrat Party with their hatred for America and direct access to the Fake/Failing News.
We hope their version of the Dem Party is never resurrected.
These four women destroyed the Democratic Party with race
QUOTE: Four young Congresswomen – not even Senators – accomplished something that eluded years of Democratic Presidents and their woes.
Jimmy Carter in his malaise, Bill with Monica and his cigar, Lyndon Johnson and his Vietnam War – none of that was able to accomplish what these four young Congresswomen accomplished.
They destroyed the Democratic Party.
It was a perfect storm that began around the year 2020. China leaked a bioengineered virus from its biowarfare lab – probably accidentally – to produce worldwide mass hysteria and lockdowns of billions of people.
It gathered steam when a thug died in the hands of a white cop. Protests and riots ensued, weirdly exempted from the lockdowns.
At the time, the country was already weary of Donald Trump and his often productive but typically provocative antics.
These four Congresswomen seized the moment. Never great fans of America, they seized that time of weakness to destroy her, or at least act out their anger at her.
The death of the thug became emblematic of white police brutality. Never mind that this particular thug probably died of drugs, not a chokehold. Never mind that more Blacks die at the hands of Black police officers than at the hands of white ones. Never mind that the leading cause of death among young Black men is other young Black men. Never mind that the murder rate among Blacks is seven-times that of whites, and nearly all Black murders are at the hands of other Blacks.
Led by these Congresswomen, the Left decided that sticking to those inconvenient facts was . . .RACIST!
The narrative was more important than any dumb facts. To disagree with their false narrative or their false charge of racism served only to prove you’re a . . .RACIST!
Your only salvation was confession, and then they might let you off easy with just a few hundred hours of DEI training.
Oh yes, DEI. The Left’s long-standing reverse discrimination called “Affirmative Action” had failed, and their effort to sustain their failed discrimination was also failing. So, the Left did what they do when their policies fail: They rebranded it. (See, e.g., communism rebranded as socialism, rebranded as liberalism, rebranded as wokeism, rebranded as progressivism.)
The new brand for “Affirmative Action” was “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.” This new brand was the same as the old brand, except, this time, it was coupled with brainwashing.
We’ve never seen a political climate quite like the current one. The Democrats went way out on a race limb, sawed it off, and are now surprised that they and their limb – not the tree – have fallen.
